Bret is a Director of Technical Account Management at Tanium Inc. He is an active member of the Southern California Presales Technical Engineering Team. Bret brings a comprehensive set of technical skills to his role at Tanium, with over 30 years of experience in presenting, designing and implementing many types of operating system, networking and security solutions in the majority of the Fortune 500. He has an in-depth technical knowledge related to the most crucial areas of information security including Incident Response, Patch Management, Privileged Identity Management, Intrusion & Vulnerability Detection, Data Loss Prevention and Encryption.
Previously, Bret held a management level position with CyberArk Software. Prior to CyberArk he held a Director level position with Absolute-ID and has been a Senior Systems Engineer at security companies such as McAfee and Symantec handling their most strategic key accounts within the western region.
Bret holds a degree in Electronic Engineering. He currently lives in San Diego County California.
Darrin has over ten years of experience in information security and over fifteen years in complex technology presales. Through his current role, Darrin helps organizations improve their security posture through security awareness and by applying technologies to identify breaches earlier in the kill chain. He has expertise on many security technologies including mail security and anti-phishing solutions, data loss prevention, mobile security, endpoint security and network-based security solutions. As a presales engineer, he presents and demonstrates solutions to Fortune 1000 company CISOs and security professionals.
Darrin holds a CISSP certification and earned his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine.

Darrin has been in the information technology industry for twenty years, serving in a presales capacity for over fifteen of them. Darrin has served on, and managed teams in support, consulting, and sales engineering organizations. Three years were spent running the technical sales operations team for Symantec, where he and his team helped drive technical and soft skills development for 600+ SEs. Jeffrey Van Gundy
Jeffrey has been a Presales Engineer for 15 years and in information technology almost 30. He started his IT career has a database administrator, eventually moving over to the presales side working on ATM networks in the Southern California region. In 2004, he switched over to security where he covered large enterprise accounts for over nine years. He is currently employed as an Advisory SE and works with fortune 500 businesses. He is certified in Networking, Virtualization and Information Security. He enjoys writing and has guest posted on various media outlets on the topics of IT and Security.
His extensive experience over a wide range of technologies has provided him with key insights on what it means to be an effective presales engineer. “My thoughts on being a good presales engineer are that aside from knowing the technology it is just as important to know your customer’s business, be able to follow through and to have integrity.
